In the second half of 2020, Mission Zero won a place on and took part in Cohort 3 of the Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC)’s TechX accelerator programme via the TechX Ventures route – a collaboration with Deep Science Ventures (DSV). The 16-week programme was fully online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and granted 12 participating startups (known as ‘Pioneers’) £100,000 of non-dilutive funding each to support their growth. With the NZTC’s recently-revised strategy involving a strong focus on the Energy Transition, more than 50% of the Pioneers were in the cleantech space. Earlier today, the programme’s graduation ceremony took place and it was announced that Mission Zero has been recognized as a recipient of the Equinor Award, laying the groundwork for future relationships.
“We are humbled that our vision for tackling CO₂ emissions has been comprehensively backed by the likes of BP, KPMG, Equinor, and many other partner companies seeking to pivot into the energy transition. We look forward to leveraging their expertise and resources to keep Net Zero 2050 on track for everyone.”
— Dr Shiladitya Ghosh (CPO, Mission Zero Technologies)
The programme offered unrivalled and invaluable access for startups like Mission Zero to major energy industry players operating around the North Sea, allowing for business model testing, customer development, access to holistic mentorship, and procuring mechanisms of support from industrial heavyweights to accelerate the commercialization of the new offerings being developed.
